2013 Race2Race Qualifiers from Kylemore Karting
August 1, 2012 by Barry Rabbitt
Less than a fortnight after securing the 2012 ITCC Touring Championship The Race2Race team have continued their search for their 2013 ITCC race-driver. Dublins Kylemore Karting was the venue for the latest qualifying round of the scholarship drive that everyone in Irish motorsport wants and with almost 50 entrants on the night the racing delivered up by the aspiring hopefuls was hugely entertaining.
With the drivers categorised according to weight the four classes took to the track for a series of practice, heats, semi finals and the all important final.
In Class A Shane Rabbitt took the win but as he is related to the organisers was not illegible to progress so it was a delighted Mark Keane that secured his place in the second round.
Class B was won by JJ O Riordan who put in a last minute entry.
Meanwhile it was 2012 finalist Roberto Colluci who was unstoppable in Class C.
Class D was won by complete outsider James Doyle who only decided to take part as a number of his friends were already entered. He was delighted to progress to the next round while his friends left wondering why they thought it a good idea to bring him along!

Is there any more 1st rounds taking place??
