Team BMR who will be racing in 2014 as Chrome Edition Restart Racing and Árón Smith launched their 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship campaign at the official Media Day yesterday in Donington Park.

Unveiling the team’s striking new chrome livery for 2014 featuring their new title partner Chrome Edition, an all new range of top quality automotive cleaning products, both Smith and his team are buoyed by the cars pre-season testing pace and confident they can challenge at the front of the field this season: “Testing has been going really well so far. The team has done a superb job on the car and it’s everything they promised it would be. We’ve had a chance to work through lots of things last week including the new tyre for 2014 and so far it’s been going great! I feel I’m the fittest driver on the grid this year and firmly believe that with this great car and a fantastic team  behind me it’s going to be a really strong season for us this year.”

The Championship’s official Media Day is the first chance for all the teams to test together in front of a large gathering of dedicated BTCC fans. Both Chrome Edition Restart Racing Passat CC’s of Árón and team mate Alain Menu were comfortably running inside the top six before the heavens opened and the team opted to take no further part in the afternoon’s session.

As the session came to an end, Árón reflected on a good start to the new season: “Today has been great! It was cool to finally get the car’s fantastic new livery out into the public in front of so many fans who came to see us in action today. During the dry part of the session once again the car was perfect. As we will be doing a little bit more testing this week we opted to save the car for those instead of running in the wet conditions later in the afternoon.”

The 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship begins at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit on Saturday 29th March for rounds one, two and three. You can follow Árón’s progress during the weekend and throughout the year on his all new website www.aronsmith.com or by following him on twitter & Instagram, @aronsmith_ and on Facebook by searching for Aron Smith Racing
