F1 in Schools- Bardahl racing to appear at the Leinster Trophy Meeting!
September 9, 2013 by Bardahl Racing.
Four county Wicklow students to represent Ireland on International Formula 1 stage. All eyes are on the start gate. Cars poised and ready to go. Lights appear one by one. The atmosphere so taut you could prick it with a needle. Then in a plume of smoke they’re gone! Hurtling down the track at twenty metres per second. Every eye in the arena follows them. Blink and you’ll miss it. That’s the world of Formula 1 in Schools!
Bardahl Racing is an “F1 in Schools” team from St. David’s Secondary School in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. They have the immense honour of representing Ireland in the “F1 in Schools” World Championships which takes place in Austin, Texas this November at the same time as the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix. Bardahl Racing, comprising of students Joseph Moran, Christopher Lynch, Conor Darcy and Patrick Flaherty, will be presented at Ireland’s Premier Motor Racing meeting, the Leinster Trophy, in Mondello on the 15th of September.
Bardahl Racing will visit the Paddock, meet the teams and will be interviewed on Mondello TV. Christopher Lynch, the Marketing and Communications Manager, said ‘We are very grateful for this fantastic opportunity to see the Irish Racing scene in full swing . A visit to the paddock will definitely put a grin on our Manufacturing Engineer’s face.’ The team is now preparing to represent Ireland in the upcoming World Championships. They are busily redesigning their car and working on raising the €25,000 needed to bring the Bernie Ecclestone Trophy back to Ireland.
The team offers a sponsorship programme for companies wishing to assist them and sincerely appreciate all the support they have gotten thus far and hope to get on their journey to become World Champions!
