Griffin aiming for championship lead in Portimao

Irish Ferrari driver Matt Griffin will be heading to in the Algarve this weekend for round 2 of the International GT Championship.
Matt and team mate, Duncan Cameron, are currently lying in 2nd place in the GTS class championship of the popular championship with their AF Corse entered Ferrari 458 after a 2nd and 5th place in round 1, held a few weeks ago at Nurburgring, Germany.
The team mates had a successful season in the International GT Open championship in 2013 ending 4th and 5th overall, 2013 also saw them take a win at Portimao.
“I’m really looking forward to Portimao, it’s a great circuit and is fun to drive. The aim will be to try to win that’s for sure. We had a strong Rd1 and we really want to build on that, but I expect the competition to be fierce”
Qualifying for the races are at 09.30 GMT and 11.30 GMT respectively on Saturday 7th June, with race 1 at 15.00 GMT. Race 2 commences at 11.00 GMT on Sunday 8th June.

Immediately after race 2, the busy Northamptonshire based ELMS Champion, will be heading to the iconic Le Mans 24 hour, where he will be joining forces with Ram Racing.
