Irish Karting Club to run “Open Day” at Whiteriver on Feb 9th!

The Irish Karting Club (IKC) are running an open day on Sunday February 9th in Whiteriver Park starting at 9.30am, Testing is available for all types of race karts and no licence is required. Drivers as young as 8 years of age can start racing in karting.

Secondhand karts can be bought for as little as €1000. Drivers can start racing with a Motorsport Ireland race licence as young as 8 years of age in the 60cc Cadet class. Junior classes are for 12-16 year olds. Classes for senior drivers start from 16 years upwards and there is no age limit as you will see with some of the more mature drivers competing! No matter what budget or level you are at there is a class suitable for you and many friendly faces who are only too willing to help you out.

Charlie Eastwood (Formula4) is a long time IKC member and Current Senior Rotax Max European Champion and 2012 World Champion,

proving it is possible for Irish drivers to compete with the best and win.

With ex Irish karters such as Craig Breen (WRC), Robert Barrable (WRC-2), Peter Dempsey (Indy Lights), Niall Murray (Young racing driver of the year 2013), Aron Smith (BTCC), and many others cementing the fact that karting is the ideal training ground for future champions.

There will be limited number of test drives available for anyone looking to get started in the sport. Test drives can be booked by mailing up to 7 days before the event.
