RTÉ's coverage of Rally Ireland

Ireland will launch the WRC season in 2009 and RTÉ viewers can enjoy all the action from the four-day event which takes place in the northwest and will see nearly 40 crews battling it out over 350km and 19 stages. John Kenny has spoken to Citroen's Sebastien Loeb who will be defending the drivers' title for the sixth year in a row.There is also a look back at Rally Ireland 2007 plus a review of the 2008 WRC and a feature piece on the McHale trio Austin, Gareth and Aaron.

THURSDAY 29 JANUARY

FRIDAY 30 JANUARY
WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP, RTÉ Two, 8.00pm

Michael Lyster presents highlights of the first day of action from the WRC in Northwest Ireland. Analysis provided by Eugene Donnelly and Andrew Nesbitt who between them have six Irishg Tarmac Rally titles.

Commentator: Peter Collins. Reporter: John Kenny.

Ireland 2009 will travel through seven counties in the north and south of Ireland, including Cavan, Leitrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Sligo, Donegal and Roscommon and Friday is the longest day of the event.There will also be an interview with FIA President Max Mosley
