Niall Murray: T’was a long cold winter!
February 14, 2013 by Niall Murray
Well guys, its been a while since I’ve done a blog on here, sorry about that. I’ve been very busy with these exams coming up soon!
Well for start id just like to say a massive thanks to everyone that supported me over the last two seasons, Murray Motorsport, Ginetta, P1 Digital and Kennett Watches. Although 2012 wasnt a perfect season, getting the most points in the championship but a few mishaps during the season meant that I lost some also. I have to take a look at what I’ve achieved over the last two seasons and all the famous circuits I’ve raced on, all because of winning the Irish championship in 2010. So a massive thanks to Ginetta for giving me that opertunity.
I’d like to tell you all what I am competing in next season (I assure you I’ll be out in something!) but to go from Ginetta Juniors to GT Supercup or Clios etc is a massive step up in budget so it would be very difficult. We are currently talking about a few different series to race in but it’s all still up in the air at the minute. As soon as I know I’ll tell you all!
Over the winter I havnt really gotten up to much, I’ve been to a few Irish Rallycross rounds running (watching) my brother Eoin in the stockhatch to try and help him as much as possible, like he has over the years! Thanks to my excellent knowledge of how to run race cars (take it off trailer, clean windows and do tyre pressures!) he has won every race he has competed in this season so hopefully he can keep it up!
I’ve also done an Autotest on St Stephens day which was very fun! Similarly theres a Multivenue-Autotest coming up this weekend in Mondello which I’m really looking forward to, the cars ready and raring to go!
Other than actually racing the cars around, I’ve been trying to sell my road car and my Autotest car to try and get a bit of spare cash for the upcoming summer, so if anyones looking for a lovely 1989 Toyota starlet 1.3L, gimme a shout!
I suppose that’s all for now, keep in touch with my website and twitter where you’ll find me mostly mess around with my 2012 team mate @andrew_watson11, and I’ll probably announce my 2013 racing plans over the next few weeks too!
For now, thanks for reading!
