Off to Silverstone- with Barry John McHenry
October 15, 2013 by Barry-John McHenry
Well it’s the end of the 2013 racing season & after 4 fun, but ultimately disappointing Fiesta races, myself and Kellett Motorsport are heading to Silverstone to race with the BRSCC Alfa-Romeo Championship for their final round of the season. We will be taking over 2 Punto Abarths that Alastair and myself used to take 2nd and 3rd in the 2012 Dunlop Abarth Championship. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to race on the Silverstone International track, an experience that I’m really looking forward to. The car has, as always, been prepared by Kellett Motorsport and is sporting new DMC.ie livery.
With 36 cars entered, we’re hoping that our nimble Abarths can show some of the faster Alfas a surprise or two. Competing against ex WTCC Alfa 156 and 147 Cup cars won’t be an easy task but it is something that we are relishing. Also on both Saturday and Sunday, the Caterham F1 Team with be doing demonstration runs with their reserve and current GP2 driver Alexander Rossi. This is something that you rarely get to see away from a Grand Prix so it will make the experience all the more special. Both races will be shown on tv in the coming weeks too so check here for updates and transmission times!
A special thanks must go to my loyal sponsors without whom we wouldn’t be able to make the trip.
