Patch Fiestas again have the biggest grids for this weekend but some of the other classes have grown too! Image from Con Connolly
I can’t believe we are on the eve of the second car race meeting of the season already. The Mondello Champion of Mondello Series’ kicked off at the new March meeting last month and continues at this one, but it also sees many of the National Championships starting their own championships. The Crowne Plaza Dundalk Formula Vee title chase... [Read more...]

It was this close all weekend! Image from autosportpics.com
Last year I did not have a spare minute to even think about writing a blog about my experience in the ITCC 2013 championship. A newly built car with a few issues required all of my time and attention! So I decided I would make an effort this year to give everyone a little insight as to how the little E46 saloon came about. This blog will provide... [Read more...]

So, just a couple of weeks to go to the start of the racing season- I can’t wait! For race fans, the return to Mondello’s traditional St Patrick’s weekend season opener is fantastic but I suppose it is slightly tougher on competitors and teams, having to have the cars ready a month earlier than in recent years. 2014 already has all... Erik Holstein and Murray Motorsport have already wrapped up the 2013 ITCC series!
It is almost the time of year where the radio stations start playing those depressing “Back to School” ads. They depressed me as a kid for obvious reasons and nowadays they just remind me that we are well into the second half of the motor racing season. Most of the titles are still up for grabs as I type this, the exception being the ITCC-... [Read more...]

Rabbitt leads Hearty early on in Formula Sheane
It was back to business as normal after the hectic Formula Vee Festival for the July meeting at Kirkistown. The sun was only rising as Con and myself headed off for the day although others were still up from the night before. We saw two youths legging it from a taxi before we hit the motorway, the driver must have been scary ….or something. A quick... [Read more...]

The former showjumper leaps over the Kirkistown chicane! Image from Con Connolly.
Last weekend saw the ITCC return to Kirkistown for Round 7/8 of our championship. I have not been there for years, so it took a few laps to ‘keep it lit’ down through Debtors kink. The M3 is fairly travelling at that point, and it certainly seems a sharper corner than when I was in a Fiat Punto!! The tyres we were on were well knackered... [Read more...]
