VIDEO- Dunlop Irish Touring Cars from Mondello Park- 1997.

January 31, 2014 by Leo Nulty

In 1997, the previously unbeatable Astras were in trouble in the Dunlop Irish Touring Car Championship. Ed O’Connor’s Clio Williams, with its Harlow Motorsport built powerplant was well nigh unbeatable. Mark Turley and Steve Griffin had got to grips with the ex Mardi Gras works Civic VTi and Ciaran Greenan was proving to be at least as quick as the former occupant of his ex Jonathan Fildes Peugeot 309 GTI 16v. Ed O’Connor does not start this one from the front row and gets caught up in some turn one argy-bargy leaving Turley to fend off Greenan, until George Crozier starts to fight back for the Astras!

John Kenny & ex tin top racer Brian Tuite talk us though it…
